The Practice of Honoring

I dare you to feel deeply.  

Feel joy.

Feel connection. 

Feel the clouds roll in and the sun and wind and rain on your face.  

 

I dare you to laugh loudly.  

To hug tightly.  

To smile until your cheeks hurt.

And there is nothing left but this moment in time.

 

I dare you to cry softly.  

To let tears and grief and thunderstorms 

become one.

 

I dare you.

Be moved by the world.  

Love without fear.  

Fear without shame.  

 

We have one choice in this world: 

to be awake or asleep.

 

I want to be awake with you.

To dance in the rain with you.

To put our hands in the mud.

And get sticks stuck in our hair.

 

I want to laugh with you.

To know you.

To love you.
